"Last Year on the Farm" Paintings

I'm so glad they put this on YouTube so we all can watch her paint on her farm. Check it out. This is happening in so many places, farms are lost and houses, all in a row, crammed together, are put up.

And it's great to see her paint! We were so priviledged to have her come to Calvert a couple of times.

What a fabulous clip of Virginia painting the story of her farm. I remember stumbling across her blog early on in the year that she began the project and feeling the sadness of the passing of the farm and the 'new' development. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Mary. Love the cat painting on your blog!
Isn't that a great bit of film!
My area, Bryan/College Station is growing so much and they are bulldozing so much around here, I said there isn't going to be a natural tree left. We thought tha we were way out in the country, but in the past few years, they built a freeway to connect the George Bush Library with LBJ Library in Austin, a huge Expo Center, and all kinds of subdivisions, apartments, businesses, hotels, restaurants, etc. I guess it's a good thing, but I hate to see the land torn up and paved over.
